The Heritage brand has been providing a premium hospitality service in Townsville for three decades. Our journey has always been a commitment to excellence and quality, and our 30 years in the industry have given us extensive knowledge of premium spirits and the way they are produced and consumed.
Our deep understanding and appreciation of sourcing the finest ingredients and using time-tested techniques has enabled us to create high quality well-balanced spirits, perfect for mixing at home or in the bar.
1994
Late 90's
Heritage Bar & Grill developed into an up-market wine bar.
mid 2000's
Heritage Bar and Grill became an iconic Townsville cocktail bar, known for excellent quality cocktails and spirits, and hosting a rotation of house DJ’s.
2015
The business moved location to the Exchange Hotel and re-opened as the Heritage Exchange, offering a bigger venue with a larger range of premium spirits, live music and three separate bars/function spaces.
2019
Distillery equipment purchased from ‘Adams Distillery’ after a trip to Tasmania.
2022
Distillery equipment was installed, and our first spirit run was successfully completed in December.
2024
In our first two years our range has now expanded to nine products including Vodka, Gin, Ouzo and Liqueurs.
Our products can also be found in a number of premium bars and restaurants throughout Townsville.

Our Premium Pink Berry Gin is a deliciously juicy contemporary style gin. Designed to be fruity and soft on the palate. It makes a bright and fruity G&T or is perfect to use in light refreshing cocktails.

OPA - Anise Spirit
OPA! – The Greek Spirit is a traditional Ouzo style Anise Spirit that will put hairs on your chest. It’s packed full of flavour with a beautifully oily mouthfeel, that will make you shout OPA!
- Crystal clear. Louches when adding water to turn milky grey-white.
- Clean Fennel, Liquorice and Aniseed with a subtle spice.
- Pronounced Aniseed with Liquorice and a hint of sweetness.
- Long finish with lingering Liquorice.

Meet the Distiller
Head Distiller Luke Brooks graduated from James Cook University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science. He has had a keen interest in distillation for many years and has been refining his skills by making small batch Rum, Whisky, Vodka and Liqueurs in his spare time.
He Joined us in 2022 to help finish the set up of our distillery and has since taken the lead with designing and distilling our whole range of premium craft spirits.
